Over 200 Graduates Receive Degrees at Abate Group of Institutions Annual Convocation 2026

Ceremony at Khayaal Palace, Mankada draws more than 1,500 attendees as graduating batches from Optometry, Optometry Doctorate, Interior Design, and Eye Care Management are conferred their degrees.

Perinthalmanna, May 9, 2026 - More than 200 graduating students from the Abate Group of Institutions were conferred their degrees at the institution's Annual Convocation Ceremony 2026, held at Khayaal Palace, Mankada. The ceremony drew over 1,500 attendees, making it one of the largest single-day gatherings hosted by the institution to date. Graduates from the Optometry, Doctor of Optometry (OD), Interior Design, and Eye Care Management programmes received their degrees and certificates in the presence of family members, faculty, dignitaries and alumni.

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Adv. Samsudheen, Chairman and Managing Director of the Abate Group of Companies, who delivered the inaugural address. Er. Muhammad Kutty, Co-Chairman of the Abate Group of Companies, delivered the presidential address.

Dr. Fauz Gataby, Director of the Swiss American International Academy, delivered the keynote address, sharing perspectives on the evolving global landscape for healthcare and design professionals.

Hanansha, the Brand Icon of Abate and one of Kerala's prominent content creators, served as Chief Guest for the ceremony.

Optom. Mohammed Sirajudheen K, Chief Academic Officer of the Abate Group of Institutions, delivered the welcome address. The oath-taking ceremony was administered in two parts: Optom. Muhammed Kunhi, Optometrist at the Ministry of Health Hospital, Muscat and former Principal of the Abate Group of Institutions, led the oath for the Optometry and OD graduates, while Ms. Swapna administered the oath for the Interior Design and Eye Care Management graduates.

During the ceremony, the institution felicitated key contributors to the Abate Group, including Er. Ameer Pathari, Project Engineer; Mr. John Joseph Kannath, Chief Human Resources Officer; and Dr. Mohammad Shefshaf, Chief Operating Officer.

The winner of the institution's reel competition was also recognised with a cash award presented by the Chairman and Managing Director.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Optom. Irfana Jasmin, Optometry Faculty at the Abate Group of Institutions.

The day-long event, which began at 8:00 AM, drew graduating students, their families, faculty, dignitaries, media representatives, and content creators, underscoring the growing reach of the institution across Kerala and the wider region.
