Divya Dhananjayan is the Head of the Department at Abate Institute of Architecture (formerly Alsalama Institute of Architecture) and an accomplished landscape architect with extensive professional and academic experience.

Divya earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the College of Engineering Trivandrum and her Master of Architecture in Landscape Architecture from the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University, Chennai. She has been a registered member of the Council of Architecture since 2003, and is also a member of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Malappuram and a fellow member of the Indian Society of Landscape Architects (ISOLA), Kerala Chapter.

Before embarking on her teaching career in 2014, Divya worked extensively on landscape projects with Prakrti Living Environment. Her postgraduate studies provided her with a unique opportunity to examine the impacts of natural catastrophes and the importance of considering land as a vital resource in design development. This experience has profoundly influenced her design philosophy, which emphasizes creating self-sustaining spaces and built forms.

At Abate Institute of Architecture, Divya strives to instill these principles in her students, encouraging them to design with an awareness of environmental sustainability and resilience. Her commitment to sustainable landscape architecture and her dedication to education have made her a respected leader in her field.
