Assistant Professor

Athira Sajeev T is currently serving as an Assistant Professor cum Consultant Architect at Abate Group of Companies, with a distinguished background in architecture and urban design. She obtained her Bachelor of Architecture from Thrissur Government Engineering College and pursued a Master of Urban Design from CEPT University's Faculty of Planning department.

Athira’s Bachelor's thesis focused on the "Satellite Bus Terminal in Eanchakkal," showcasing her ability to address complex transportation issues and her Master's thesis, titled "Repurposing the Underutilized ITI Land and Neighborhood at KR Puram Metro Station in Bangalore," delved into transit-oriented development, highlighting her expertise in urban regeneration.

Athira’s professional journey began as an Associate Architect at Rite Angle Constructions, where she contributed significantly to various architectural projects. Later on, after her master's program, she joined Seagull Studio as a Junior Urban Designer and actively participated in national and international urban planning and design projects, gaining invaluable experience and expertise in the field. Athira has also completed internships that further honed her skills: her B.Arch internship at BCA Architecture, Calicut, and her M.Arch internship at IDEA Designs, Kochi.

Beyond her professional roles, Athira is deeply passionate about heritage preservation, celebrating cultural identity, and seamlessly blending traditional architectural styles with modern designs. Her entrepreneurial spirit is evident in her work as a children's book illustrator, freelance artist, and NFT artist.

Athira's design philosophy emphasizes creating spaces that resonate with people, fostering a sense of community, and prioritizing storytelling and local traditions. She has also conducted various workshops focusing on sketching, architectural perspectives, watercolor techniques, and more, showcasing her commitment to continuous learning.
