Assistant Professor

Ar. Anjana is an architect with a specialization in Urban Design. She obtained her Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET) and her Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from the Department of Architecture, MES College of Engineering, Kuttipuram, between 2014 and 2019.

Anjana's interest in urban design was sparked during her undergraduate studies, culminating in her thesis project, "Revitalization of Feroke." Her postgraduate thesis, titled "Restructuring Underdeveloped Industrial Precincts through Regenerative Urbanism: A Case of Nallalam in Calicut," explored the concept of transforming waste into a valuable resource for urban development.

Throughout her academic journey, Anjana gained significant practical experience in architecture by training under Ar. Noufal C Hashim at Architectural Studio and Ar. TM Cyriac at Environmental Creations. These experiences allowed her to engage in a variety of projects, from residential designs to urban and landscape projects. Additionally, as a trainee urban designer at Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Limited (KTIL) under the mentorship of Dr. Manoj Kini, she developed a deeper understanding of how urban design interventions can transform local communities.

Driven by her passion for architecture, Anjana joined the ABATE Institute of Architecture as an Assistant Professor, where she teaches courses such as Theory of Architecture, History of Architecture, and Urban Design Studio. Alongside her teaching role, she is also an active practicing architect. She co-founded her own architecture studio, Padav Design Collective, which is dedicated to traditional and affordable housing. Her firm specializes in low-cost, sustainable, and tropical design solutions aimed at enhancing the human experience through thoughtfully designed spaces.
