Ar. Afaf Mammu is a practicing architect and academician with over seven years of cumulative experience in the field of architecture, including four years in teaching and professional academic engagement. She holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture from MES School of Architecture, affiliated with Anna University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the same university.
Afaf began her architectural journey with Planex Associates, where she worked as a Junior Architect. During her tenure, she contributed to various residential and institutional projects, gaining hands-on experience in design development, client coordination, and execution.
She later joined the MES School of Architecture, first as a Postgraduate Scholar and later continued contributing to the academic ecosystem through teaching and research in sustainable architecture. Her exposure to the pedagogy of architectural education during her postgraduate studies shaped her interest in academic practice.

Since 2019, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor at the Abate Institute of Architecture, where she plays an active role in teaching, mentoring, and guiding students. Her academic interests focus on sustainability in architecture, passive design strategies, and contextual design responses.
